About This Course
Advance your career with the NCFE CACHE Level 5 Diploma in Leading and Managing an Adult Care Service. This recognised qualification is designed to support the development of registered managers of adult social care services, and is ideal for those in, or moving into, management roles within adult care settings.
You’ll develop the knowledge and skills to lead and manage a service: managing and improving care and support for the people who use it, supporting and developing your workforce, and driving the vision for your service or organisation.
This qualification replaces the NCFE CACHE Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care. Learners must be employed in a managerial role in an adult care setting to complete the assessments. The course includes observations of your practice in your workplace, which are a required part of the assessment.

Assessment
This advanced-level qualification is designed for those working in or moving into management roles in adult care settings, developing the leadership and management skills needed to run a service in line with legislation and regulatory standards. Learners must be employed in a managerial role in an appropriate adult care setting to meet the assessment requirements.
This is a fully-recognised qualification awarded by NCFE CACHE and listed on the RQF. It is assessed in line with the Skills for Care and Development Assessment Principles.
Many units include skills that must be assessed by direct observation of your practice. A qualified assessor will observe you in person in your workplace; remote observation can only be used alongside this, not instead of it.
You’ll build a portfolio of evidence from assignments based on real situations in your work. You’ll access your learning materials and submit your work online using our learner management system. Your expert assessor will mark your work and guide you throughout the programme.
Required Knowledge
There are no formal entry requirements, but you must be at least 19, and you may find it helpful to have already achieved a Level 3 qualification.
Before enrolling, you must be employed in a managerial role in an adult care setting.

Upon completing your course, you will receive a certificate from NCFE, a respected educational charity with over 170 years’ experience.
Enrolment in an NCFE CACHE course grants you two years’ access to the NCFE CACHE Alumni network and its resources.
