Assessment

To achieve this full qualification you will need to take 3 written examinations which will thoroughly test your knowledge of the course syllabus and your understanding of psychology and its various elements.

Paper 1: this 2 hour written examination carries 33.3% of the weight of your A Level grade and will assess your knowledge of the content taught in topics 4.1.1 – 4.1.4. This will be achieved through a mixture of multiple choice, short answer and extended writing questions.

Paper 2: this 2 hour written examination carries 33.3% of the weight of your A Level grade and will assess your knowledge of the content taught in topics 4.2.1-4.2.3. This will be achieved through a mixture of short and long answer questions, as well as multiple choice questions.

Paper 3: this 2 hour written examination carries 33.3% of the weight of your A Level grade and will assess your knowledge of the content taught on topics 4.3.1 and optional content from:
– one from option 1 (4.3.2-4.3.4)
– one from option 2 (4.3.5-4.3.7)
– one from option 3 (4.3.8-4.3.10)

Please Note: in order to complete this qualification you will need to take the standard A Level examinations. Dates for these exams are available on the AQA website, and you will need to book onto these yourself.

Required Knowledge

To maximise your success on this course it is recommended that you have a reasonable GCSE grade in Psychology, as concepts from this GCSE course may follow on into this A Level.

Awarding Body

Upon completion of this qualification you will receive an A Level in Psychology issued by the AQA.
