Assessment
This course is assessed through a portfolio of written assignments marked by your personal tutor with detailed feedback throughout, plus two extended assessments that are set and marked externally by NCFE CACHE. There are no traditional exams.
Learners must also complete a work placement of at least 175 hours in a real work environment. Placement hours do not contribute to your overall grade but are a mandatory requirement for certification.
Required Knowledge
Learners must be aged 16 or over.
A work placement must be arranged before you enrol, to fulfil the placement hours required to complete this course.
There are no formal entry requirements, though we recommend GCSE English and Maths (or an equivalent Level 2 qualification) to support study at this level.
If you have already completed the NCFE CACHE Level 3 Certificate in Health and Social Care, you will have covered the nine core mandatory units and your remaining placement requirement is reduced to 100 hours.
This course suits those starting out in health and social care as well as learners progressing into the sector or on to higher education.
