This qualification is assessed through an internally assessed and externally quality assured portfolio of evidence. All learners must have access to either employment or work experience in a real work setting to develop and practice their skills, ensuring they demonstrate consistent competence at Level 3. Learners must complete between 600-700 hours in a work setting to facilitate their skills and knowledge development at Level 3, meeting the requirements of the Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Care Learning and Development (Northern Ireland).
Learners must be 16+ to take this qualification. No formal prior qualifications needed, but Level 1 English and Maths are required. A Level 2 qualification in a related subject may be beneficial.
