The NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate is designed for individuals seeking to develop their expertise in environmental management and make a meaningful contribution to sustainability. This course is suitable for those who wish to understand the principles of environmental management, whether they are starting out in the field or looking to formalise their existing knowledge.
With comprehensive coverage of environmental management systems, environmental aspects and associated impacts, and practical application, this qualification equips learners with the knowledge and skills needed to address environmental challenges in a professional context.
Learners will benefit from up to twelve months course access and tutor support, allowing them to study flexibly and at their own pace.
Completion of this qualification may support an application for TechCIWEM, subject to CIWEM’s current membership requirements. IEMA is now known as ISEP; learners should check directly with ISEP to determine the appropriate membership grade and current eligibility requirements.
Qualification Title: NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate
Unit EMC1: Environmental management
Unit EMC2: Assessing environmental aspects and associated impacts
This practical assessment requires learners to apply their knowledge by assessing environmental aspects and associated impacts within a suitable workplace.
To achieve the qualification, learners must pass both mandatory assessments:
Assessment registration and fees depend on the study package selected. Learners choosing a Course Only package should confirm the applicable assessment fees, registration arrangements and submission deadlines before enrolling.
Learners must undertake the required learning and be registered for the assessments through a NEBOSH-accredited Learning Partner. Where an assessment-inclusive package has been purchased, learners should follow the registration instructions provided with their course.
Both EMC1 and EMC2 must be passed within NEBOSH’s applicable two-year qualifying period. This qualifying period is separate from the twelve months course access and tutor support.
There are no formal qualification entry requirements, and learners are not required to manage staff or hold a team leader or manager position.
However, NEBOSH recommends that learners have English language ability equivalent to IELTS 6.0 or higher so that they can understand the course materials and complete the assessments successfully.
The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) is the awarding organisation for this qualification.
The NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate is awarded after the learner has achieved a pass in both EMC1 and EMC2.
Learners will receive up to twelve months course access and tutor support, including guidance from experienced tutors and access to comprehensive study materials.
The support team is available to assist with course-related queries throughout the support period, helping learners progress confidently and study at a pace that suits their circumstances.
