Please Note that alongside our 3 practical days of training, you’ll also need to attend a half-day session (in a classroom), where you’ll be expected to finish the GTi Anatomy and Physiology element of the course. GTi Anatomy and Physiology Theory:
Before you go onto your practical day you will need to have completed the GTi Anatomy & Physiology Theory part of the course. This is essential for your practical training day. This will cover all of the anatomy and physiology required for the Level 2 and 3 National Occupational Standards (NOS) for beauty, nails and holistic therapy treatments. This will take 30 hours to complete.

This course is assessed using a series of written assignments that are designed to test your knowledge of the course syllabus. These will need to be submitted to your personal tutor for marking.
Once you have received confirmation that you have passed the theory part of our Massage Level 3 course, you will then be able to progress onto the GTi anatomy and physiology theory work. This will require half a day of attendance in a classroom and the completion of an online exam.
Once you have passed both the written assignments and your exam (all of which need to be done online) – as well as your half day attendance – you will be able book onto the practical training days. There are three training days in total and these can be completed at a choice of over 20 centres. Simply give our team a call and we can book you into a centre of your choice.
Please Note: the online GTi test for the Anatomy and Physiology theory, currently doesn’t run on some mobile devices e.g. iPhones and iPads. It also isn’t compatible with Google Chrome browsers.
No previous knowledge or experience in body massage is needed in order to enrol onto this course.
On your ‘hot stone’ practical training day you will be required to bring with your own hand sanitiser and massage oil. These materials will be supplied to you (by us) once you book onto this practical day. In addition, you are expected to bring your own bath towels (2) and face cloths (6). These will have to be purchased by yourself.
Please Note: You may be asked to bring your own model on your practical days.
Upon successful completion of this distance learning course, learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement by ABC Awards in Body Massage Level 3. In addition, you will also receive a Learner Unit Summary detailing all of the units you have completed during this course.
This course has been designed by Open Study College to meet the requirements of specific learners’ or employers’. It has also been endorsed under the ABC Awards’ Quality Licence Scheme. This means Open Study College have undergone external quality checks to ensure that they – and the courses they offer – meet a high standard.
It is important to note that completion of this course alone will not lead to an Ofqual regulated qualification; however, it may be used as evidence of knowledge and skills towards future regulated qualifications. The unit summary can also be used as evidence towards your Recognition of Prior Learning (should you wish to further your studies within this field).

The Anatomy and Physiology theory part of this course will be accredited by The Guild of Beauty Therapists. Guild Accredited courses are recognised throughout the industry for their high quality content and delivery. Upon completion of this practical day, you will be able to obtain insurance and membership from the Guild, which will enable you to carry out and charge for treatments on members of the public.
This will cover all of the anatomy and physiology required for the Level 2 and Level 3 National Occupational Standards (NOS) for beauty, nails and holistic therapy treatments. Once you have completed this section of the course, you can apply for full guild membership (which includes insurance cover for over £6 million of treatment, public and product liability).
Your Swedish body and Indian head massage practical days will be accredited by Professional Beauty Direct. Professional Beauty Direct have arranged insurance cover for over 11,000 salon owners and individual beauticians, nail technicians and hair stylists – most of whom now manage their policies online. Once accredited, you will become affiliated to Professional Beauty and Professional Beauty Direct Insurance.
